Scott Watzlawick - Board of Trustees
Scott is a twenty-nine year veteran of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. During his rewarding career he has worked in Patrol in various capacities which include the Zone 1 Task Force, Police Bike Unit, and Beach Patrol at Hanna Park. He has also served in the K-9 Unit and Traffic Special Enforcement. His most notable accomplishment is the over twenty years of dedicated service to the Police Dive Team where he served as the teams instructor and safety officer. He retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office June 30th, 2017 were he was assigned to the Homeland Security Unit. He was responsible for conducting critical infrastructure assessments, managing Port Security and State Homeland Security Grant Programs. Scott has been instrumental in acquiring and managing over three million dollars in grant funded equipment and training.
Scott has served and honored our fallen officers as a member of the Police Honor Guard. He is an active supporter of Fraternal Order of Police - Jacksonville Lodge 5-30 activities. Scott participates yearly in the Special Needs Children’s Christmas Party and the Fraternal Order of Police - Shop with a Cop. He believes that it is important for our organization to be perceived as a positive force in the community. As a member of the Board of Trustees he will continue to work tirelessly to improve the image of our organization by encouraging more community outreach activities. Scott continually answers the call to arms in supporting our membership in the arena of securing better pay, benefits, and protecting our pension. He routinely attends City Council Meetings and speaks with members of the City Council. Over the past few years Scott has participated in the State Fraternal Order of Police Conference as a voting delegate for FOP Lodge 5-30.
Electing Scott Watzlawick to the Board Trustees will ensure that your Fraternal Order of Police - Jacksonville Lodge 5-30 assets and property are secure, inventories of lodge assets and property are conducted as prescribed in the Lodge By-laws, and will ensure the permanently invested funds of the Lodge are safeguarded. Scott believes that communication is key to the success of any business and will work diligently to improve the communications between the Executive Staff and the Lodge Membership. Transparency of the Executive Board is instrumental in gaining the confidence of our membership. As a member of the Board of Trustees Scott will strive to maintain transparency and maintain your confidence in the Lodge. As a lodge we will continue to maintain a business like atmosphere while fostering the support of our members . To be a successful business it takes the participation of all. As a member of the Board of Trustees Scott will continue to promote an atmosphere that will encourage membership participation.
